Every night is a promise for the day to come. I pray before selecting the one that the Lord guides me to. My interpretation of these promises are not meant to be an explanation of their meaning but rather an expansion on how I believe they speak to my life or those around me. Here is one from the first days my friend, daily telephone and devotional partner, took up new residence, where a telephone line was at the minimum 5 weeks away

Day 10 (re-posted)
The final one before my visit for her Birthday. The 10 were all compiled into a special Birthday Card. You will note that all the re-posted one, previously written were promises I had some time before. I believe the repeat is very intentional

Psalm
27

The
LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength
of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

One Thing I Ask For

The Lord is my light and
my Salvation

He is the strength of my
life, my protection

Enemies come, my foe and
the wicked, my flesh to eat

Lord they stumbled and
fell at thine feet

One thing have I desired
that will I seek after

Residing in The Lords
house and therein enquire

Demons today may encamp
me, and wars rise against me

I shall not fear, I’ll
trust Him confidently

Should troubles persists
I will bow to my knees

My head He will lift up
above my enemies

Yes, then I shall sing
aloud my praise

Let the world know there
is glory these days

I cry with my voice and
He has mercy

God I shall always say
unto Thee

Hide not Thy face far
from me but draw Thee nigh

Thou has been my help,
forsake me never and I

Always will serve you
and walk your way

Never questioning but
asking your help as I pray

Dear Lord, I am humbled
by your undying love

My body is yours as your
conduit from above

Yours to reach those who
in desperation stray

Searching for
enlightenment along the wrong way

And with your strength I
too shall be strong

Lord with your help I’ll
make right the wrong

Victory I’ll share and
spread around me

And barricade myself
from the threatening enemy

Then with the glory of
your comforting hand

I’ll spread the victory
throughout the land

One thing I ask for and
for this I shall seek

Nothing else but the
glory you promised the meek

1
John 4:4

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because
greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Greater Is He That Is In You

God made the mountains, the valleys, the trees

Rivers and lakes, the ponds and the seas

Every fowl of the air flying low or high

Animals wild and those that draw nigh

The Lord made creatures, too small for us to see

Eyes can’t perceive them but they’re vital to our
ecology

Really large and more complex organisms that dwarfs
us all

I see a whale or an elephant then I feel really small

So for all this vastness and variety

He is greater than any other can be

Evil tries to invade us as we walk the earth

The spirits of Satan wish to inflate their sinful
worth

Human kind who never let the Savior in

Are vulnerable to this evil and the world of sin

They are lured into a new vastness of dark gloom

It can attract with glitz, money and lust in its
costume

Superficial pleasures and fleeting happiness

It’s easy to be taken in without God’s righteousness

Nothing defeats the darkness but the light

Your invitation to the Lord will yield His might

Overcoming the Evils of the world to free you from
sin

Ultimately you’ll be saved because Greater is He That
Is Within

Psalm
107:9

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul
with goodness.

The Longing Soul

The Lord He satisfieth
the longing soul

He filleth the hungry
soul with goodness untold

Exalting You Lord comes
with great ease for me

Lord You’ve saved me
from shameful iniquity

Only You can make
possible the desires of my heart

Needs and wants You are
able to set apart

Goodness through
blessings you deliver each day

I need only live
righteously and follow Your way

Now, though the storms
be violent and the waves high

God’s mercies calm my
troubles for He draws nigh

So even when I’m at my
wit’s end

Our Father’s protection
He will extend

Under His wings I shall
soar safe and free

Longing soul quenched of hunger and purged of
iniquity

Isaiah
41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy
God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee
with the right hand of my righteousness
.

Five Faithful Promises

For all the times where
they might have been fear

I think of His promise
to always be near

Very many times I might
have felt alone

Earnestly I pray and I’m
never on my own

Fear thou not He said,
and promised “I am with thee;”

And right away His power
is within me

I no longer tremor or
feel terrified

There is no fear when
with the Lord I confide

He promised “I am your
God,” be not dismayed

For all the times I
needed Him here, He came when I prayed

Under the lowest times
He promised “I will strengthen thee”

Lifted me up from
faintness and put might in my body

Praise God for the
promises He always keeps

Raises me from bed in
the morn from my restful sleeps

Oh Lord you promised “I
will help thee,”

My days have been made
better and especially

I now enjoy the beauty
in all things you made

Such beauties that once
passed me by when no attention was paid

Even with all this you
know life might still bring me stress

So you promised “I will
uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness”
