And Peace Be To All Men

Posted: December 28, 2009 in Seasons

I was here wondering why so many international contestants when asked what would their like, you hear, “World Peace!” Don’t we know that peace to all me was ours centuries ago, that we can claim it at any time. When Jesus came, He put peace within our reach, a peace that removes all our problems and can remove the problems of the earth, if only we would listen and follow.

And Peace Be To All Men

A Gift of
peace the Savior would bring

Notorious
Herod sought to foil this King

Did adverse
things, killed firstborns everywhere

People’s
children were killed and they asked why the Savior came here

Every appeal
was declined, no child was spared

A sure threat
to the rulers with the word he shared

Christ Jesus
arrived to bring us Salvation

Explain the
circumstances under which all souls are won

Brought to
this earth peace, joy and good cheer

Every man from
sin He freed everywhere

The Messiah,
Jesus Christ, taught of the Father’s Word

Outskirts of
cities, in natural amphitheatres and on hilltops He was heard

And God’s Word
was now heard of His plans up ahead

Lifting up
those downtrodden, healing the sick and raising the dead

Lord Jesus
thought us the Beatitudes and words of wisdom

Made us
realized that in us all are the keys to God’s Kingdom

Explained the
way we must pace and through His Word preach

Nothing is
beyond anyone, and that God’s Peace Is In Reach

Season’s Greetings

Posted: December 26, 2009 in Seasons

Hi friend.

Sorry to hear that you had such bad experiences in the whole gift giving thing. The fact is, you are right. We must remember or learn how to receive a gift. Just the other day I saw a gift I had given, one that I expected to last a lifetime, going out in the dump and it tore my heart out, not because it had cost me fortune back then, which it did. Not because it took me the whole day to assemble, which it did. Not even because I asked the shop people to hold it a few days before and made special arrangement to deliver the dissemble 400lbs unit. It is mainly because I thought my family really needed it and 20 years and some 400lbs combine weight increase, it seems they did, but never used.

Season’s Greetings

Sad thought to
think they never appreciate

Early trips off
to town and coming back late

All wishing to
get the perfect gifts for them

Some careful
selection not some “blood” gem

Only to insult
you with their ungrateful pout

Not a social
courtesy, just their unthankful shout

aint right, Christmas
giving should be gifts from the heart

So lovers or any
other should know from the start

Gifts shopping
requires money, thought and time

Recycled gifts
don’t qualify, that is a crime

Even sometimes
old items refurbished or made from scratch

Emanated
creatively with no underlying catch

Takes the prize
for notable claim

I think this was
the original gift giving aim

Not so much the
gifts of the lover as the love of the giver

Gift size
doesn’t count, what matters is the thought of the lover

So give from
your hearts everyone and receive like you care

      Season’s Greetings
to all, have a
Happy New Year!

Blessed Christmas

Posted: December 25, 2009 in Seasons

I think that people if they stopped and really observe and pray earnestly, they can find wonders untold. The Lord promised us these things and things beyond our imagination if we will only believe. Still, too many people are complaining about their relationships and forgetting that they can put this too to Christ. All things are made possible when we believe.

Blessed Christmas

Best wishes my
friend may you come to know

Love ones that
bring you peace wherever you go

Enjoyment with
them and whatever you do

Sorrow be only
something behind of you

Sing praises,
sing earnestly for you know that He

Even will
direct each day the way it must be

Do what He
wills, let His Word guide you on

Cause He
always will be there when all else is gone

Have the
things He wants for you

Righteous
living with intercessions taking you through

In hard times
when the troubles seem to prevail

Show that you
can brave them, His love will never fail

The promises
He made you last time you stopped to pray

Might today be
preparing to come true cause you’d obey

And so my
friend pray now to have the love to end all despair

Season’s
Greetings my beloved friend and a Happy New Year!

My Family And Friends

Posted: December 25, 2009 in Seasons

Today I write to my family again and I am elated that I have given this opportunity. We can easily take things for granted and the thing that is taken most is time. Too many of us, sometime we all think that we have the next moment and this is shown through the way we make appointments and promises for tomorrow. Nowadays I enjoy every moment like it is the last. For me, it doesn’t mean splurging on fleating things but giving God praise for what has come.

May this
Christmas bring you good cheer

Your days
become better at the turn of the year

Familiar
things and people be always with you

And may you
enjoy all you choose to do

May any
thought give you every peace of mind

If today doubt
creeps in may you quickly find

Light to lead
through the darkest despairs

Yesterdays
delightful best be the worst of coming years

Although the
downs will come I pray they’ll be

Negligible,
and you’ll eventually see

Days made bearable
cause you believe

Faith in the
Lord never fails you and all you can conceive

Realized with
little despondency

I prayed that
life be just and you can be

Enjoying every
day and night knowing you may

Never have any
more openings like you have today

Do not forget,
be faithful and keep smiling with no tears

Season’s
Greetings and His Blessings be with you for the coming years

Know Now That The Lord

Posted: December 25, 2009 in Seasons

Sometimes we need the reassurance that all will be well. When I was a child, I used to believe that once I left the room, cameras followed me and nothing went on the room I departed. I thought everyone’s story of life was recorded and that we were being viewed in the same way we watch movie stars. Of course I learned later that although the lights may go off in the room, life doesn’t stop.

Know Now That The Lord

Keep the faith
for He

Never forsakes
in adversity

On Him you can
lean when things are tough

When you feel like
you’ve had enough

No more vigor
left, no more vitality

Obey His word
and know that He

When you feel
like you can no longer go

The Lord will
lift you up and your might will grow

He promised
that He will always be near

Amidst all the
troubles just waiting to hear

Those words from
you, Father help me

The moment you
open your lips and heart, He

Hears and with
the blink of an eye will

Elevate you
though you have fallen ill

Lift you up
when love too may fall

One call to
Him and he will hear your call

Remember these
things in all your despairs

Do these and
His love will direct you during the coming years

Baby’s First Christmas

Posted: December 25, 2009 in Seasons

I have been through many first Christmases for babies, from friend and families but this one is different. To family member both had baby girls delivered in October just days apart. The two mothers have been described as very similar and all the description suggests that these two little babies have much in common. I thought they do after seeing them and I penned the following to further demonstrate some similarities

I Find Myself Wanting More

Posted: December 25, 2009 in Seasons

I thought of my friends and their family and then I started writing this poem and strangely, I got this Christmas tree that was oddly appropriate. This is one poem that I wished could be delivered to those who have been part of my poem. Well, thankfully I found the email address for at least one family member.

I love the Christmas time of year

Friends call or came by with wonderful
cheer

I will remember and treasure people I
loved so

No ills can cause adorable memories to
go

Dreaming is good, precious memories are
great

My mental shots of past friends I
celebrate

Years we entertained hopes of times to
be

Such joy caroling, movies and ecstasy

Evenings at local shows how we busted
out

Laugh until drops of tears trickled and
we felt to shout

Far car trips taking scenic roads to
places I never knew

Waited hours and hours for David to
arrive to see how he grew

All the excitement we had and yet I
clamor for more

None of these dreary days are like the
gone days of before

The magic we enjoyed on those days when

Interest was not implored, honesty had
no end

Nothing would turn smiles to tears

Glory was common, grace and glory
filled those years

My life has changed, many of the  things we used to do

Old now and forgotten, dreariness has
replaced the joy I knew

Remembering gets harder and daily each
prayer stronger than before

Each day for Christmas I find myself
wanting more

Same Poem in a Christmas

I Find Myself Wanting More

I Love the ChriStmas time of year

FrienDs call or came by with wOnderful cheer

I will remember and treasure
people I loved so

No ills can cause adorable memories to go

Dreaming is good, precious memories
are great

My mental shots of past friends I celebrate

Years we entertained hopes of times to be

Such Joy

EveniNgs at local

Strong Tree

Posted: December 25, 2009 in Seasons

She stands steadfast like a tree and her roots spread for miles around. Her wisdom is a network of experiences and ideas and mixtures of cultures that allows her to grasp the differences of our people and the mesh people’s weakness and turn them into strength.

A Holy Day

Posted: December 25, 2009 in Seasons

She is going to be like the typical Bajan woman today, caught in the kitchen, baking great cake, plain cake, turkey, ham and possible even some cookies. There is any number of dishes that will be on her menu so I know; she is going to be very busy. But she is special, she still take the time to wish friends a blessed Christmas on the phone or by email. Thank God for her.

A Holy Day

Amidst barn
animals He laid

He in a manger
and around Him they paid

One child
homage for they knew

Light had
directed them to a King’s debut

Yes, they never
doubted, they came from far

Delightedly
they had followed the night’s star

And now all
must follow faithfully Jesus’ light

Yuletide
repeat the story of what followed that night

Friends

Posted: December 25, 2009 in Seasons

A friend who has been like a brother to has parents who have been like my own, many years ago. Recently his parents started to be very friendly again, after many years of not seeing or hearing from each other. This couple always has sound advice which they dissimulate very humbly.

Fear not He said for you will deliver the King

Raise Him honorably and one day He will bring

Intercession, linking God and you

Erase iniquity and show a love that’s true

Nurture His pure love and give it freely

Do this and you will spread His precious legacy

Season Greetings friends, have a Blessed New Year
