Auld Lang Syne – PR

All those
promises people make on Old Years Night

Usually vanish
in a blink or by the first daylight

Loyally some
are made but generally

Drunks after
bingeing promise their litany

Lots call them
resolutions

Absolute
changes to their inclinations

No looking
back but before Valentine’s Day

Goals that
were set are soon lost away

Set reachable
goals and let others know

You need all
the encouragement from friend or foe

Never give on
realistic targets whatever the despair

Enthusiastically
strive and you can have a Prosperous New Year

Auld Lang Syne – Building

A brick at a
time, that’s how I’ll go

Undoing the
past to let my future grow

Lifting away
the debris from past mistakes

Demolish the
structures built with emotional aches

Life went
wrong but I’ll get it right

A smarter man
I am and with tireless might

Now I am ready
to take it all on

Got an inner
strength and all fears are gone

So my friends
if  you are looking out for me

You’ll find me
in the queue for greater spirituality

No more going
on without first saying a prayer

Earnestly I’ll
pray for God’s grace through this coming year

Auld Lang Syne – Ahoy

Ahoy, he said,
I can see land

Unable to get
to shore, they needed a plan

Let the ship
go closer to the reef

Don’t go to
close or we might sink underneath

Life presents
many places ahead where you must stop

And reefs of
obstacles lay there where your anchor mustn’t drop

No warnings
you’ll get until it’s too late

Got no lookout
man on a flag pole to shout stop or wait

So now here
comes land up ahead, new to all, 2010

You must
disembark the old boat 2009 and you know exactly when

Night time
when the clock strikes 12, 2009 will disappear

Emerging is
2010 and we all must embark on a New Year

Auld
Lang Syne – Rollover

A few things I’ll take with me in 2010

Unforgettable moments, love to the
end

Love for friends and my family

Devotion through my life to our Lord
Almighty

Lord you know that silver and gold

And countless treasures or riches
untold

Now mean little or nothing to me

Got no place in a life of eternity

So Lord give me the privilege to take
these few

Your love and all the love of all I
knew

New Year is upon me and I pray from
this year

Everyday be filled with those love
ones who care

Happy
New Year 2010

 and

Prosperity
to all Men

Auld Lang Syne

All who
started out, from days long gone

Under all the
pressure, come greet this new dawn

Loads of
pressure once unbearable you see

Don’t even put
a flicker to cause a worry

Life’s snags
you maneuvered for yet another year

And like a
winner negotiated things brought to bear

Now see my
friend, you were seldom alone

Give praises
for who were there when you weren’t on your own

Share your
glory, your winnings with those bringing you through

Year’s havoc
and the uncertainties too

Now it’s behind
you, ahead lies new prospects, new things to share

Enjoy Old
Year’s celebrations and have a Prosperous New Year

Auld Land Syne – RIP

A Year has passed and memories linger on

Unforgettable people who die this year gone

Lost moments with those who were family or friend

Done and will never see the year 2010

Last seconds are ticking away on the clock

And on some doors new opportunities knock

No more will 2009 offer when it strikes midnight

Goodbye to those who have seen a last daylight

Some dress up, drink, dance and go partying

Year is ending and a New Year is beginning

No loud music or alcohol can drown a misspent 2009 away

Erase it all by starting 2010 anew,  thank God, kneel  and pray

In Memory
of the

Dearly Departed in 2009

Family and Friends

Auld Lang Syne – Rooster

A morning laugh and a
Cock-a-doodle Doo

Until 9am they are there for you

Laughs about traditions and
what’s in the news

Dennis J and the Acting A.G. air
their views

Listen out early on every weekday

And hear what this fine team has
to say

Nothing is untouchable with this
morning team

Got a love-hate, nah maybe a
love-dislike harmony, never extreme

So 2009 has gone and you are
wondering what to do

You just need listen to this
early Morning crew

Natalya, Carol and KB sometimes
join in to bring more cheer

Even more love for 2010, and they
wish you a
Prosperous New Year!

The Auld Lang Syne song evades me – I can never remember
the words but the title of the song inspired this Acrostic Poem – “Got Our Destiny” that I wish to share with you. I hope
the message becomes clear and that it can play some part as you say goodbye to
the old year and hello to 2010

Auld Lang Syne – Destiny

Another year, wow! Lord I give
you praise

Unbelievable to many but I
survived the days

Lord you walk with me wherever I
go

Dear Father I give you praise cause
this I know

Life is unpredictable not only
for me

And good health today is no
security

No certainty that we will have
tomorrow

Got no days put down, no time to
borrow

So Lord we all must turn to you

You alone can ensure that we’ll
get through

Now that we have 2009 behind us and
its despair

Entrust us with prosperity for
this coming New Year

Auld Lang Syne – The LOG

All those days I needed you here

Unfeigned love beyond compare

Love that could stand the test of time

Do all to, the highest mountains climb

Love that eases the greatest pain

And in the worst of times choose to remain

Never deserting in sickness or poor health

Giving as much in poverty as in endless wealth

Such a love I found was always close by

Yearning to stay and though I can, why

Need never again spend life on my own

Every day from 2010 onward I’ll never be alone
